From the developer's site: Blogg-X is a cross platform (Mac OS X and Windows XP) blogging tool for websites based on the Joomla! CMS. With it's built in WYSIWYG editor it allows rich content to be posted onto the front page of your Joomla! site eliminating the need for the internet browser and being logged in. If you want to post content quickly and easily Blogg-X is for you. When combined with AkoComment 2.0 from Arthur Konze you have a complete, fast and simple front page blogging solution for Joomla!. How does it work? Blogg-X makes direct updates to the MySQL database that the Joomla! site is working from. Once you have configured a site within Blogg-X the settings are saved into an XML file on your hard drive. Blogg-X supports settings for an unlimited number of different sites. From the main application window in Blogg-X you enter the title name and content that you wish to post. Clicking the "Post" button causes many things to start happening. First a test connection to the database is established alerting you if any problems are encountered. Second the "Title" and "Content" are inserted into the "jos_content" table of your MySQL database. From there an SQL insert occurs on the "jos_content_frontpage" table putting your new posting on the front page of your site. An additional ordering step on the table occurs to keep content posted, from Blogg-X and via the website, from changing the positions of any of the posted content. If all is completed you will receive a "Posting Complete" notification and your content will appear on the website. The final step is a safe closure of the database connection.
